1 Corinthians 2:2 “For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.”
My thoughts: Many times in order to remember our purpose on the earth, we must forget everything except Jesus Christ. When we forget everything except Jesus, we can see what really matters. He begins to show us how to love the people and things that matter most. Before we label something important, let’s compare it to the sacrifice that Jesus made. If it seems to be something important, let’s ask ourselves another question: Is this essential to me, or to Him? Will this benefit God, or promote self gain? Just because something is important to us doesn’t mean it is crucial to God. All of us are important to God, but if He isn’t important to us, we will be useless to Him. When God is significant to us, we begin to see what is vital to Him. Because we are important to Him, He wants to be daily involved in our lives and for us to trust completely in Him. Instead of worrying about the seemingly hopeless situations of life, let’s forget about everything except Jesus. He will help us overcome our struggles and remember what matters most. Many times to see how compassionate and concerned He is for us, we need to direct our complete attention on Him.
