Ephesians 4:1 “Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.”
My thoughts: God is never going to call us to something He cannot enable us to accomplish. It’s not that He doesn’t have the power, it’s just that many Christians won’t accept the call. The truth is, we can’t lead a life worthy of a call we haven’t accepted. We cannot lead people to someone we haven’t listened to ourself. Direction comes from the leader, not the follower. We will have no sense of direction if we don’t listen to the One who is our direction. When we set a destination on our GPS, we expect it to provide us the right direction. As followers of Christ, we won’t always know what the destination is exactly, but can trust that His direction is only good. Where He takes us we won’t always understand. We must press forward after the One with complete understanding. Real leaders in the Kingdom of God are bold enough to admit they don’t know it all, but that they serve the One who does. Our job is to lead others to the Ultimate Leader. However, before we can lead others to the Leader, we must let Him give us direction and remain in complete trust of His will.
