Nehemiah 2:18 “Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me, and about my conversation with the king. They replied at once, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall!” So they began the good work ”
My thoughts: There is never a finish without a beginning. Nehemiah gave his testimony to the Jewish leaders, and they responded with willingness to work. The wall of Jerusalem would never be repaired unless someone took action. The people of Israel began the reconstruction process because they had faith in God, not the current circumstances. The people knew God was more than able to get the job done through them. What if every Christian responded in faith and refused fear? Fear produces laziness. Laziness is the same as destruction because it stops us from rebuilding what is in ruins and robs us of our potential. What will you allow God to start through you today? Nehemiah’s testimony sparked enthusiam and faith in people and so can ours. A word spoken in faith is not declaring where we are at currently, but who God is continually.
