Healing In His Hands

Luke 8:45,46 ‘Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, ‘Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.” But Jesus said, ‘Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.”

My thoughts: The woman with bleeding problems pursued Jesus and ran ahead of the crowd. She came to Jesus with faith and knew that just a touch of His robe would release healing power. There was a large crowd pressing up against Jesus, yet the woman came with expectation. The crowd was just in for the ride, while the woman was ready to be restored. She gave up her reputation and sought after Jesus without compromising. People like her were considered “unclean” and were outcasts. May we be Christians who lay down our reputation, pursue Jesus wholeheartedly, and allow His restoration power take place in our lives. It’s easy to be a part of the crowd and “press up against Jesus” not receiving any breakthrough. May we not ride off of someone else’s passion, but pursue the One who is passionate for us. There is healing in His hands.
