Psalm 85:6 “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
My thoughts: It is very difficult to rejoice when you are spiritually dead. We remain spiritually dead until we die to ourselves. “What in the world does that mean?” you may be asking. If I am already spiritually dead, how can I die to myself? Before we surrender to God, we are spiritually dead. Our lives feel empty, without purpose, and are full of pain. As we daily surrender to God, He will begin to kill every part of us that will destroy ourselves and other people. He will bring life where there is none. God is willing to kill what will hinder and obstruct us, but are we willing to die to it? What revival that is found when we die to ourselves and find abundant life in God! Why is it that many Christians have trouble rejoicing? Because they are still clinging to their selfish lifestyle and not embracing the life Jesus has for them! What a miserable place to be! And yes, not every Christian is dead to themselves. Do you want revival?
